چکیده
The 1988 paper, \The Limited Performance Bene ts of Migrating Active Processes for Load Sharing," by Eager, Lazowska and Zahorjan concludes that migrating active processes for load balancing o ers little additional performance bene t beyond that obtained using only remote execution (placement). This result is based on analysis and simulation of a system model that is intended to overestimate the performance bene t of migrating active processes. This report examines the system model used by Eager, Lazowska and Zahorjan and concludes (1) that it does not describe many systems, like networks of workstations, to which its results have been applied, and (2) that it underestimates the potential performance bene t of migrating active processes.

This paper describes third aircraft model with 2 degrees of freedom. The aim of this study is to develop a mathematical model for investigation of adoptable landing gear vibration behavior and to design Proportional Integration Derivative (PID) classical techniques for control of active hydraulic nonlinear actuator. متن کاملVoltage Control and Load Sharing in a DC Islanded Microgrid Based on Disturbance Observer
Increasing DC loads along with DC nature of distributed energy resources (DERs) raises interest to DC microgrids. Conventional droop/non-droop power-sharing in microgrids suffers from load dependent voltage deviation, slow transient response, and requires the parameters of the loads, system and DERs connection status. In this paper, a new nonlinear decentralized back-stepping control strategy f...
متن کاملDC Voltage Control and Power-Sharing of Multi-Terminal DC Grids Based on Optimal DC Power Flow and Flexible Voltage Droop Strategy
This paper develops an effective control framework for DC voltage control and power-sharing of multi-terminal DC (MTDC) grids based on an optimal power flow (OPF) procedure and the voltage-droop control. In the proposed approach, an OPF algorithm is executed at the secondary level to find optimal reference of DC voltages and active powers of all voltage-regulating converters. Then, the voltage ...
متن کاملApplication of ANN Technique for Interconnected Power System Load Frequency Control (RESEARCH NOTE)
This paper describes an application of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to Load Frequency Control (LFC) of nonlinear power systems. Power systems, such as other industrial processes, have parametric uncertainties that for controller design had to take the uncertainties in to account. For this reason, in the design of LFC controller the idea of robust control theories are being used. To improve ...

In this paper, a boost converter with a clamp circuit is proposed for high intensity discharge (HID) lamp application. The clamp circuit provides zero voltage turn on for both main and clamp switches. Compared to conventional boost converters, the proposed converter has the following advantages: (i) high voltage gain without suffering from extreme duty ratio, (ii) low stress on the switches and...
